On this page you will find weekly updates about what the children are learning in literacy, maths and phonics so you can support at home. Our termly curriculum maps provide an outline of what the children will learn across all subjects. More detailed information for a particular subject can be found in the curriculum area of the website.

The last swimming session will be on Wednesday 6th December.
Cricket has now finished.
Library books are changed on Friday.
This week we will be spending some time learning and retelling the Christmas story. We will also be having a Design and Technology day. We will be reviewing the assessments we completed last week and revisiting some of the questions the children found tricky.
Please encourage your child to spend time practising their number skills on Numbots. The Numbots Awards are continuing. The winners on Friday 1st December were:

Swimming continues on Wednesday 29th November.

In Literacy we will be using adjectives, similes and conjunctions to write an independent description of a story setting.
In Phonics we will be continuing learning the alternative way of spelling some sounds - se for the s sound in house and the z sound in please and o for the u sound in come.
In Maths we will be assessing what the children have learnt so far this year. We will also be continuing with the 'Mastering Number' scheme which focuses on subitising and basic number facts.

In Literacy we will be continuing using adjectives, similes and conjunctions to write descriptive sentences about a story setting.
In Phonics we will be continuing learning the alternative way of spelling some sounds - gn for the n sound in gnat, kn for the n sound in knit, wr for the r sound in wrap and st for the s soud in listen.
In Maths we will be adding and subtracting tens to and from a 2-digit number. We will also be continuing with the 'Mastering Number' scheme which focuses on subitising and basic number facts.

In Phonics we will be starting a new block of work about the alternative way of spelling some sounds, e.g. t for the ch sound in picture, tch for the ch sound in catch, dge for the js ound in fudge, and mb for the m sound in lamb.
In Maths we will be adding and subtracting tens to and from a 2-digit number. We will also be continuing with the 'Mastering Number' scheme which focuses on subitising and basic number facts.
