“If we are to live together in peace, we must come to know each other better.”
Lyndon B. Johnson
RE teaching and learning is a very important part of the curriculum at our school. In EYFS and KS1, children begin their RE journey by understanding what it means to belong and be part of a community. They retell and explore the meanings of some religious and moral stories. They listen to stories from the bible and they learn the significance these stories have for Christians. Using this knowledge, children will make connections between key parts of the bible and their own experiences in the world. Children will begin to understand that Christianity is a way of living across the world, and they explore core key theological concepts. Using the Awareness, Mystery Value agreed syllabus and Understanding Christianity , children become secure in their knowledge of Christianity, and they develop an understanding of other faiths, including Hinduism, Judaism & Islam and other non-religious views (Humanism).
