Welcome to Pelican Class

On this page you will find information about the adults that support our learning in class.  Our termly curriculum maps provide an outline of what the children will learn across all subjects.  More detailed information for a particular subject can be found in the curriculum area of the website.

Our PE days this term will be Wednesdays and Fridays. Please make sure all your child’s clothes are clearly named and in school.

If you need to catch up with us about anything we are available before or after school or you can email the office to arrange a time to meet. You will also find a class message board outside to write on for quick messages to be passed on to the teacher. This is to allow us to get into the classroom as soon as possible and start the learning day.

Please use Numbots regularly to improve maths fluency - if you need a new copy of your log in please speak to Miss Barrett. The top three children who have either played for the most minutes, earned the most coins, or answered the most questions correctly will receive a certificate on Friday.

White Rose one minute maths app is also fantastic and free to download and use to improve maths fluency.

Please help by hearing your child read at least 3 times a week.

Teachers in the classroom:

Our class teacher is Miss Barrett.

Miss Stannard will be teaching Tuesday afternoons and alternate Monday afternoons.

Our lovely education support assistants in Year 2 are Mrs Murley and Mrs Millward. Mrs Reed also provides additional pastoral and academic support each morning.

Please keep remembering to read with your child at least 3 times a week. Children will be heard three times a week in a guided reading group with key adults in school.
